WICAS was assigned the Ahmadabad Municipal Corporation to executing Green Sculptureā€™s Armature Framework for the River Front as a part of the River Front Flower Festival January 2017. As a collaborator of WICAS, TREES executed the project on the Green Sculptures. In all 45 green armature frames were created. It took 30 tons of iron and an investment of 2250 man days of hard work to accomplish the task. In all 8 artists and 40 students from welding department of ITI Dholka and ITI Sarkhej worked on the structures, day and night, for 45 days to create these eyes catching green frames under the guidance and supervision of internationally acclaimed Artist, Somu Desai, who had conceptualized the project.

Involving Students from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) has been a unique experiment that added a new perspective to Flower Festival. Besides developing young skilled artist-artisans for the City to produce environmental art, the project also aims to sensitize citizens about clean and green city, global warming and climate change.
